World Press Freedom day is celebrated on 3rd May as declared by UN General Assembly to create awareness about importance of Freedom of Press. It reminds government of their duty to respect and to defend the Right to Freedom of Speech without fear of any restriction. The free press in a democratic society is influential in shaping better future of a country, strengthening media’s role in advancing peaceful, fair and inclusive societies.
